Mistawasis Man Facing Murder Charges

A preliminary hearing begins today for a Mistawasis band member accused of killing two people on the reserve.

34 year-old Hubert Conrad Sand has pleaded not guilty to the crimes, which occurred on September 3rd.

On that date, Mounties were summoned to the community where the bodies of Greg Whitefish and Dwayne Badger were found.

A woman was also injured by gunfire however her injuries weren’t serious.

Today’s hearing is taking place at Provincial Court in Prince Albert.
