A First Nations police force has caught the most wanted man in the province.

The RCMP say 29-year-old John Albert William Dumont was arrested Sunday by the File Hills First Nations police force without incident.

He was accidently released last week by a guard at a Regina courthouse, prompting a province-wide search.

The authorities say he is now being returned back to the Regina Correctional Centre.

Both Justice Minister Frank Morgan and Public Safety Minister Darryl Hickie say better work needs to be done in the future to protect the public from mix-ups like this.
