Missing Paddlers Rescued By Helicopter

Searchers were successful in finding a group of 10 people that got separated from their canoes near La Ronge earlier this week.

On Wednesday, a report came in that two canoes with six adults and four children were overdue from a canoe expedition on the Montreal River.

Volunteers with the local search and rescue organizations KOSAR and CASARA joined the RCMP in looking for the missing paddlers.

All 10 people were safely recovered 12 hours later with the help of a helicopter.

Apparently, the two canoes had crashed while going through rapids on the river.
