The Minister of Highways says residents of Shoal Lake and Red Earth will see improvements to Highway 55, but he doesn’t know when.

Eldon Lautermilch recently outlined the government’s plan over how it intends to spend $65 million of Northern infrastructure funding.

However, although local leaders have lobbied hard for Highway 55 to get paved, Lautermilch says they’re going to have to wait.

He adds Northern Advisory networks should hear from his department in the New Year about the $65 million commitment. He explains the government will be deciding which roads to fix up first based on those meetings.
