Talks between northern residents and officials from mining companies continue this month.

On May 27th, representatives of Cameco and AREVA, the company formerly known as COGEMA, will answer questions in La Ronge about how their various industrial projects are impacting the North.

AREVA executive vice-president John Tozney says officials with both companies recently talked to residents in northwest Saskatchewan and in the Far North about how the uranium industry could benefit their lives.

He says northern communities are hungry for economic activity right now and his company can help provide that.

He adds a major construction project in Cigar Lake and mill improvements to the current operation at McClean Lake are just a few of the projects waiting for approval.
