Michel Re-Elected As Grand Chief Of PAGC

Ron Michel has been returned to power at the Prince Albert Grand Council.

The incumbent grand chief defeated challenger Roy Bird today in a vote involving delegates at the organization’s annual fall assembly.

Michel defeated Bird by a final total of 116 ballots to 93.

Michel thinks his communication skills with grassroots band members was one of the reasons for the win.

Bird says he did his best to inform voters about the changes he wanted to bring to the PAGC.

However, he says, in the end, it just didn’t resonate with some of the delegates.

Bird says he will ponder his future over the next few weeks before deciding what else he would like to do.

Michel will serve another three-year term in office.
