The Prince Albert Metis Women’s Association is holding outdoor-education classes this summer for youth who want to learn more about their culture.

Little Red River park is the setting for the sessions, which sees kids go on nature walks, discuss traditional ways of metis living and learning how to cook food like bannock.

Noreen Davies of the Metis Women’s Association says the

classes have been well-received by the community so far and will continue until the end of August.

She adds crafts and other cultural activities are also offered through the classes. She encourages anyone with questions to contact her office during regular work-hours.
