A woman from the North Battleford area has received an 18-month conditional sentence for her role in the controversial 2004 Metis Nation of Saskatchewan election.

36-year-old Cheryl Gervais had earlier pleaded guilty to one count of forgery.

So far, five other people have also pleaded guilty.

Gervais will also have to serve two years probation.

Former MNS officials Ralph Kennedy and Henry Cummings have also been charged and will have their cases dealt with later this year.
