Metis Woman Convocating With Mother

A Metis University of Saskatchewan student will get a chance tomorrow to do something few others get to do –- convocate with her mom.

Jade Chaboyer will receive her Bachelor of Arts in Native Studies.

Her mom, Noreen, will receive her Master of Education degree.

She was born and raised in Cumberland House.

Jade says having her mother graduate with her will make the day extra meaningful.

Noreen’s other daughter, Charity, is going to university part-time while she raises an adopted child.

Noreen says the family believes strongly that education is the key to a better future.
