Metis voters are being encouraged to vote for the Liberals in the federal election.

The Metis National Council is urging Metis to vote that way after reviewing the responses they received from the various parties on Metis matters.

MNC president Clem Chartier says Metis leaders not only want to continue the momentum they’ve achieved with the Liberals, they also aren’t convinced the Conservatives even have a Metis policy.

Chartier says the Tories offered to meet face-to-face with Metis leaders next week, but declined to respond to the MNC’s survey.

As for the NDP, Chartier says board members with the MNC decided to back a party they felt had a shot at forming government.
