There’s been a delay in the case of a prominent Metis politican accused of election forgery.
The lawyer for Ralph Kennedy withdrew from the case today in North Battleford provincial court.
The judge re-scheduled Kennedy’s hearing for January 25th and his file was referred to legal aid.
A legal representative for the Crown voiced frustration over the matter, saying they have already talked to three different legal organizations about the case and nothing has happened.
Bob McLeod, president of the Central Urban Metis Federation, says he’s disappointed with the postponement.
McLeod adds he’s worried the delay will only result in a further impasse between the MNS and the provincial government over a new election.
