A Metis group in Prince Albert has joined forces with the city and a local community hall to revitalize a community centre in the city’s West Flat neighbourhood.

Yesterday, North-Sask River Metis Local 269 officially entered into a partnership with the Parkland Club that will provide for the upkeep and revitalization of the facility.

The centre serves as a recreation hub for many disadvantaged children in the area.

Metis local president Barry Robertson says he wants to see more recreation activities taking place at the centre, because bored youth often turn to mischief.

Improvements to date include new bathrooms, a seniors’ room and a sprinkler park for young children.
