A member of the panel holding public consultations on Metis electoral reform says his group’s findings should be in government hands by the end of this month.

Joe Daigneault says the hearings wrap up on Monday and the panel should have all its paperwork done before May.

The panel is holding meetings in Pinehouse and Beauval today.

For the past few months, panel members have been touring Saskatchewan asking Metis for their thoughts on last year’s disputed Metis Nation – Saskatchewan election.

Daigneault says most Metis he has heard from at the meetings feel the current system isn’t working and want something done soon.

The panel visits Ile-a-la-Crosse and Buffalo Narrows tomorrow, before heading to La Loche on Saturday.
