Merasty’s Time As MP Ends Quietly

Today is the last official day on the job for northern Saskatchewan MP Gary Merasty.

He announced last month he was stepping away from the job to spend more time with his family and pursue a life in the private sector.

Merasty’s departure leaves a vacancy in the Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River constituency that might not be filled for as long as six months.

He has kept a low profile in recent weeks, and could not be reached for comment.
