A resident of Jans Bay says travel times for people in the North needing medical attention are simply too long.

Louis Morin is one of the delegates attending the Northern Health Conference in Prince Albert this week.

He says while many of the issues being raised at the meeting are important ones, he wants to see the subject of medical transportation brought to the forefront — particularly for the benefit of communities that are isolated.

Morin says many health care providers simply aren’t aware of how difficult it can be to get medical attention.

Morin also points out that people in his community are becoming more aware of the issues surrounding health care and the importance it plays in their lives.

The conference runs until Friday.
