Meadow Lake RCMP Probing Home Invasions

Several arrests have been made in the wake of two violent home invasions in the Meadow Lake area early Sunday morning.

The first one occurred at a home on the Flying Dust First Nation, where a man was assaulted by six young people who broke into his home.

The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and had some of his property stolen.

Five of the youths have since been arrested, and the Mounties are looking for the sixth suspect.

Less than an hour after that episode, a man sleeping in a home in Meadow Lake was awoken by a female acquaintance and then attacked by two men.

The victim managed to escape and call for help from a nearby house.

Later that day, RCMP arrested six people they believe were connected to that incident, including a man that was apprehended in Jans Bay.

The Mounties say the female suspect is facing a charge of assaulting a peace officer, amongst other charges.

The two incidents are not believed to be connected.
