Meadow Lake Prisoner Mistakenly Released

Another prisoner has been released by mistake, this time from Meadow Lake.

Sandra Bell (aka Montgrand), 33, was sent by the RCMP to Meadow Lake on Sept. 28, in order for her to appear in court on Oct. 1.

At the court appearance, the charges against Bell were stayed, and she was released that afternoon — but she was on remand for another matter, and thus should have gone back into police custody.

The error was discovered in the afternoon on Oct. 5, and police are now looking for Bell.

She is described as 5’7″ and 169 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police stress that Bell is not considered a threat to the community.

This incident brings to 13 the number of people who have been mistakenly released by Saskatchewan’s provincial courthouses or correctional centres since 2006.
