A Cumberland House man with a long association with the Saskatchewan Party says “two times is enough”.

After representing the party in Cumberland riding in the previous two elections, Winston McKay has decided to pull out of the race for the party nomination for the coming provincial by-election.

That leaves three invividuals seeking the nomination — La Ronge mayor Joe Hordyski, former Cumberland House mayor Dale McAuley and former MBC announcer Mike Durocher.

The Cumberland riding became vacant when former MLA Joan Beatty decided to enter federal politics with the Liberals.

A by-election has yet to be called.

The Saskatchewan Party will finalize a candidate during its final nomination meeting in La Ronge on May 3rd.
