Metis National Council leader Clem Chartier was present at yesterday’s Liberal function with Prime Minister Paul Martin in Saskaton.
The MNC president says based on talks he had with Martin yesterday, the Liberals have made significant strides in the road to compensating Metis war veterans.
He also feels they are setting the groundwork for the possible compensation of northerners who attended the boarding school in Ile-a-la-Crosse.
Chartier says the MNC has received assurances the Liberals are prepared to review the file very closely.
