Manhunt In La Ronge Ends With Arrest Of Suspect

A man accused of assaulting a woman with a knife in La Ronge last week is making a court appearance today.

Matthew Sandy Allan Charles, also known as “Chew”, was arrested over the weekend after the local RCMP asked the public for help in apprehending him.

Charles is alleged to have entered a local residence last Wednesday to assault a 37-year-old woman that he knows.

In addition to the aggravated assault charge, Charles is also currently charged with breaking and entering with intent, mischief under $5,000, sexual assault, uttering threats and overcoming resistance in the commission of an indictable offence.
