A trial has been ordered for a Prince Albert man accused of killing a pregnant Aboriginal woman.

After three days of hearing testimony and evidence, Judge Stephen Carter determined Steven Schutte should be tried at Court of Queen’s Bench for the murder of Antoinette Daniels.

The body of the 26-year-old woman was discovered floating in the North Saskatchewan River last summer.

At the time of her death, Daniels was six months’ pregnant.

The 30-year-old Schutte has elected to be tried by judge and jury.
