A collision between a truck and a pedestrian in Uranium City early this morning has claimed a life.

RCMP say a 47-year-old man was standing on a road in the community shortly after midnight when he was hit.

Spokeswoman Heather Russell says details are still sketchy at this point, but notes they have already identified the victim and spoken to the driver.

Russell says the man was apparently taken to a local clinic after the accident.

Nurses contacted the Stony Rapids RCMP, who then made their way to the community.

No names have been released.
