Man Drowns At Pelican Narrows

There has been a drowning death in Pelican Narrows.

The RCMP have confirmed a 38-year-old local man died early yesterday morning on Pelican Lake.

According to the Mounties, a local man left a house party by boat.

He reportedly stated he was going to bring his boat and motor home and walk back to the party.

However, half an hour later, his boat was seen going in circles approximately one kilometre from shore.

Five local men in two boats gained control of the boat and recovered the body before the police arrived.

An autopsy has been ordered, but the RCMP say there is no sign of foul play.

The matter is still being investigated.
