The man accused of murdering a resident of the Little Red River reserve appeared in a Prince Albert court this morning.
Henry James Bird stood quietly in the prisoner’s box while the charges against him were read.
The 27-year-old is accused of killing 29-year-old Clayton Ballantyne, who was found dead outside a reserve home early Monday morning.
At the time, police also found a second unidentified male injured at the scene. He was taken to hospital for treatment and released.
Police believe the two incidents are linked, and have charged Bird with second degree murder and attempted murder.
Today in Prince Albert Provincial Court, the judge ordered Bird to appear again on October 19th for mention.
The accused was remanded into custody.
