Man Charged With Broadview Bar Fight Death

A 20-year-old man is facing criminal charges, in connection with a fatal bar fight in Broadview this past weekend.

The accused, who has not yet been identified, will make his first court appearance tomorrow morning.

He has been charged with the murder of 18-year-old Matthew Troy McKay, a member of the Ochapowace First Nation, who died after several fights broke out in the bar at the Broadview Hotel last Friday night.

The man also faces a charge of aggravated assault, for allegedly causing severe cuts to the face of Jordan Lee Taypotat, 20, of the Kahkewistahaw First Nation.
