Man Arrested After Stabbing Death At James Smith

A 20-year-old man from the James Smith First Nation has been charged with second degree murder following the fatal stabbing of another man on the reserve.

The RCMP says officers responded to a report of a stabbing at a home at James Smith early Saturday evening.

A 49-year-old man from the reserve was taken to hospital in Melfort, but he succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect in the case will be making a court appearance in Melfort tomorrow.

No names have been released.
