Makwa Sahgaiechcan Man Faces Attempted Murder

A 32 year old man from the Makwa Sahgaiechcan First Nation made his first court appearance in Meadow Lake yesterday charged in connection with an assault of a woman from the reserve.

Ernest Gabriel Angus was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder following an incident on the first nation Wednesday morning.

RCMP were called shortly after 4:30 am to a residence with a report of a woman that had been suffering injuries to her neck.

The 41 year old woman from the Makwa Sahgaiechcan First Nation was taken to hospital in Meadow Lake before being air lifted to Saskatoon. Her condition is unknown at this time.

Angus was remanded into custody and will be back in Loon Lake Provincial Court on May 23rd.
