Makwa Murder Suspect Makes Court Appearance

The RCMP has released the names of the victim and the suspect in a homicide investigation on the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation.

36-year-old Michael Bearboy is facing a second-degree murder charge in connection to the suspected shooting death of 32-year-old Darren Ben.

Ben’s body was found outside a reserve residence early Saturday morning.

Bearboy appeared in Meadow Lake Provincial Court yesterday.

He has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on April 4th in Loon Lake.
