Looking for Diamonds in Green Lake

A geologist working in Green Lake says he believes the area may be home to a diamond mine someday.
Mark Hutchison says the presence of purple sand in the region may signify the existence of the precious stones, but admits it’s simply too early to be certain.
Hutchison is currently taking soil samples in the area and hopes to have some answers in the coming months.
He says none of the work he’s doing should impact the environment, but it will give him a better sense of what he’s dealing with.
Another group is also studying the site and plans to begin test drilling as soon as it gets a permit.
