Little Red Murder Case To Go To Trial

A judge has determined enough evidence exists to send a northern man to trial over a death on the Little Red River reserve.

27-year-old Henry Bird is accused of killing 29-year-old Clayton Ballantyne on the First Nation last August.

He is also accused of trying to kill another man.

Lawyers, band members and the judge heard testimony and evidence over the past two days about the case before it wrapped up yesterday.

No date has been set for the trial.

It will be heard in Prince Albert Court of Queen’s Bench.
