A 19-year-old man charged with second-degree murder in the death of a man on the Little Pine First Nation on Saturday remains in custody.

Dwayne Coleman Sapp, Jr. made his first court appearance in North Battleford this morning.

He is charged in connection with the death of 25-year-old Terrance Sapp.

Cut Knife RCMP were called to a reserve residence at about 6:30 a.m. Saturday, and were told an assault had taken place there.

When police arrived, they found the deceased and arrested the suspect.

The accused is expected back in North Battleford Provincial Court tomorrow.

At that time, lawyers will sort out who will represent him.

Both the suspect and the victim are residents of the reserve.
