The Liberal Party of Saskatchewan has decided not to run a candidate in the Cumberland by-election later this month.

Interim leader Frank Proto says the party is too busy trying to renew itself right now.

He says the party executive has decided to lie low and wait for the next election to initiate a full campaign.

The Liberals were shut out of the latest provincial election under then-leader David Karwacki.
