Liberals Announce Nomination Polling Sites

The Churchill River Liberal Constituency Association has finalized how it will choose its candidate for the anticipated federal election.

President Roy Head says instead of holding one central nomination meeting, Liberal members will be able to vote at one of 4 polling stations across the riding on nomination day, April 24th.

The locations are Red Earth, Montreal Lake, Ile-a-la-Crosse and Meadow Lake.

Head says it would have been unfair to ask Liberal members to travel to one community to vote.

Incumbent MP Rick Laliberte has yet to announce if he will run for the nomination.

The only confirmed candidates are long-time Metis Nation of Saskatchewan treasurer Allan Morin and former PAGC executive director Al Ducharme.

Head says the deadline for consituents to apply for Liberal memberships was April 3rd, but he doesn’t have the final numbers just yet.
