Liberal Party Endorses Orchard As Candidate

Saskatchewan Liberal Association leader Frank Proto is congratulating David Orchard on his nomination win in Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River.

Proto says Orchard will bring a lot to the northern Saskatchewan riding and the Liberals, including a greater national profile.

He notes Orchard and rival Joan Beatty drew nearly 800 party members to the polling stations last Thursday.

Proto is not sure when, or if, the official numbers will be released, but says Orchard won by a healthy margin.

Orchard is pleased with the win, and says he has a lot of respect for Beatty.

Proto says an annual general meeting will be scheduled for a later date.
