Saskatchewan’s lone Liberal Member of Parliament addressed some members of his party’s Aboriginal Peoples Commission today in Saskatoon.

Around 20 people from across the province attended the meeting that is a planning session for a potential “think tank” later this year on Aboriginal issues within the Liberal Party of Canada.

MP Ralph Goodale says the party is in a stage of renewal and part of that renewal will come from getting ideas from Aboriginal people.

Some of the issues discussed at today’s meeting included community safety, poverty, economic development, and duty to consult.

The APC would like to hold a think tank this April and have Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff attend but nothing is confirmed yet.
