Leaked Memo Under Scrutiny

The environment critic for the NDP is raising alarm bells over a leaked memo.

Linda Duncan says her party has obtained a document which suggests the Conservative government want to eliminate the environmental assessment process for certain projects under ten million dollars.

Duncan says her party worries the move will be done arbitrarily, without debate in the house of commons.

She says that means any improvements coming to water-stations on reserve could conceivably be done without consultations at the grass-roots level.

Duncan adds anyone who stands to be affected by a development should be able to voice feeback.
