No charges will be laid against a Prince Albert lawyer who, by his own admission, threatened to run over two people at a rally.
On June 11, lawyer Phil West was leaving the Court of Queen’s Bench, when people taking part in a march to commemorate the lives of Aboriginal men and women who have been lost to violence arrived.
According to witnesses, West honked his horn and swore at people in front of his vehicle.
West himself admitted he told a woman and a child to get out of the way, or he was going to go through.
However, the Prince Albert police’s Staff Sergeant Bill Chow says that prosecutors have informed police they won’t be laying any charges against West.
Prosecutors have told police they don’t believe West will repeat his behaviour, given the attention this incident has generated.
