Laliberte Criticized for Not Voting

Churchill River M-P Rick Laliberte is taking some criticism from the Canadian Alliance over his recent absence in the House of Commons.

The Alliance candidate for Churchill River, Jeremy Harrison, is upset that Laliberte was not present when MPs approved another 10 million dollars in funding on the gun registry earlier this week.

Harrison says it’s another example of Laliberte choosing not to vote on an issue where the views of his constituents are at odds with the position of the Liberal government.

Harrison says 10 million dollars might not seem like a lot of money to the Liberal government, but to citizens of one of the poorest ridings in the country, that amount of money could make a real difference.

Laliberte had no comment.
