La Ronge Woman Killed In Crash

The driver of a vehicle that ran into the back of a truck in a fatal accident near La Ronge last night is now facing a charge of impaired driving causing death.

The accident took place at around 6:25 p.m. on Highway 2, about 22 kilometres south of La Ronge.

A 24-year-old female passenger in the car was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

A male passenger was also ejected, and was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

The male driver remained in the car during the collision.

He was arrested after being released from hospital.

RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Carole Raymond says it’s unclear if the car was trying to pass the truck.

No names have been released, but the Mounties say the victim was from La Ronge.
