Students and teachers from four schools in La Ronge will be talking with Canadian astronaut Dave Williams during the next space shuttle mission through a real-time video link.
The Canadian Space Agency and Saskatchewan Learning have arranged for 230 students to participate.
The students have already sent their questions to the space agency, which will make the final selections.
The chosen students will get to pose their questions directly to Williams, and hear his answers from space.
Agency spokeswoman Marilyn Steinberg says Williams wanted students in La Ronge to get this opportunity after getting a first-hand look at the community’s desire to have its youth get the most out of their science education.
Williams’ space shuttle flight is scheduled to launch on August 9th.
The mission’s main task will be to carry on construction on the International Space Station.
