La Ronge RCMP Release Name of Stabbing Suspect

A La Ronge man made his first court appearance yesterday to face a charge of attempted murder.

21-year-old Dennis Lee Hector Bird was in a La Ronge court room yesterday, accused of a Canada Day stabbing.

The RCMP reports that Bird assaulted a woman in the early morning hours of July 1st, near the Quarry Trailer Park.

The 25-year-old victim was flown to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon for treatment and was last listed in stable condition.

Bird is scheduled to make his next court appearance July 8th.
