La Ronge Mountie Charged With Sexual Assault

The RCMP confirm that a Mountie formerly stationed in La Ronge has been charged with sexual assault.

Constable Thierry Jacques has since been transferred to Pierceland and is currently suspended without pay.

RCMP spokesman Corporal Brian Jones says Jacques is accused of sexually assaulting a woman while on duty in La Ronge early last fall.

Jacques has been suspended since the end of January.
