La Ronge Man Newest Official At Northern Affairs

A La Ronge resident has been appointed as the province’s new assistant deputy minister of Northern Affairs.

The ministry of First Nations and Metis Relations says Toby Greschner will assume the position on May 1st.

Previously, he worked as a regional director with the Northern Lights School Division, and held a teaching position in La Loche.

FNMR Deputy Minister Ron Crowe says Greschner is ideally suited for the job, because he has first-hand experience of the region’s challenges.

Crowe also says there has been a need for leadership within the ministry’s Northern Affairs branch in La Ronge for a significant period of time.
