La Ronge Man Defends Clearwater Blockade

A former oil driller in La Ronge says he thinks the Clearwater River Dene Nation is doing the right thing by taking a stand against the corporate world.

Richard McKay spent much of his life working for energy corporations in oil fields and diamond mines.

He says the impact on the land from the activity is tremendous and he doesn’t think many of the groups really care about the land.

He says residents throughout the province need to hold corporations to account, when they come knocking on the door.
