More details have emerged about the sentence handed to a woman that pleaded guilty recently to stealing mail at the La Ronge post office.

Last week, 19-year-old Miranda Michelle Pappenfus, formerly of La Ronge, received a suspended sentence and was placed on 18 months’ probation.

Pappenfus is also required to complete 240 hours of community service work, all under direct supervision.

She also must hand deliver a written apology letter to her employer and to each staff member at the Canada Post office in La Ronge.

La Ronge RCMP Staff Sergeant Kirk Munro says, now that the matter is concluded, his staff has returned all the stolen items to the post office to be claimed by their rightful owners.

The offences were committed last year.

Several missing items were discovered at Pappenfus’ residence and vehicle following an RCMP raid.
