La Ronge Girl Accused Of Setting Woman On Fire

A 12-year-old La Ronge girl is making an appearance in youth court today in connection to a horrific incident last week that saw a 26-year-old woman suffer serious burns.

The young suspect has been charged with aggravated assault after being arrested in the community Friday afternoon.

The RCMP say a plea for the public’s assistance in the case was instrumental in Friday’s arrest.

The victim remains in hospital with severe burns after being discovered last Monday night behind a business in downtown La Ronge.

The name of the accused will not be released because of provisions in the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
