An informational meeting is being held in La Ronge today for First Nations people who have concerns and questions over the issue of nuclear waste disposal.

Dawn Pratt is the nuclear waste dialogue coordinator for the Assembly of First Nations.

She says the session should give her a better sense of what specific items are troubling residents of northern Saskatchewan when it comes to nuclear waste management.

Pratt feels this is an important exercise, as feedback from today’s session will be included in an upcoming report for industry and government.

Pratt says some of the concerns she’s heard so far over nuclear waste disposal include how it is transported and managed.

She is currently on a tour of the western provinces and territories in an attempt to gather as much feedback as possible.
