Residents affected by a proposal by La Ronge to annex a resort area north of town have another four months to offer their feedback to the plan.

La Ronge town council has agreed to extend the deadline for public input by 120 days after receiving a request to that effect from property owners in the Eagle Point area.

If the annexation plan goes ahead, the resort, the airport property and another parcel of land will become part of the town.

Hordyski admits a number of residents are opposed to the plan — but he says it’s too early to say what impact that will have on the final outcome.

He also says there’s still time for all parties to iron out their differences.

Under provincial legislation, the town submits all applicable documentation to the Minister of Municipal Affairs, who then makes the final decision on whether the proposal goes ahead.
