La Loche Promised Quality Physician Care

A director with the Keewatin Yatthe Regional Health Authority says arrangements are flowing smoothly in the bid to replace four doctors’ positions in La Loche.
Richard Petit says one of the original physicians whose contract was terminated has already agreed to a new deal.
As well, another physician from Saskatoon has signed on.
That still leaves two more slots to fill, but Petit is confident those will fall into place.
He adds the two men they have signed will be ready to assume their duties by the middle of next week — right after the current contract expires.
He adds the new contracts and working model shouldn’t impact on the quality of care patients in La Loche receive — something the Saskatchewan Medical Association disputes.
