La Loche Man Suing RCMP Following Tasering

A La Loche woman says her brother was traumatized after being tasered numerous times last year by RCMP.

Doris Janvier says her brother Bruce Janvier was arrested while out walking last April and was tasered numerous times.

Janvier says she encouraged her brother Bruce Janvier to sue them after the incident.

Janvier says her brother hasn’t had problems with the police before, saying he’s been arrested a couple of times but there were never any problems and he’s never been abusive.

The RCMP won’t comment on specific cases but confirms there was one deployment of a taser in La Loche in 2008.
